Game Recap #13. Angels 2, Baltimore 4
The Angels played Baltimore on Monday to finish off the four game series. The halos scored two runs while giving up four. In the past ten games, the Angels have managed to only win five of the them. Amazingly, the Angels are still in first place in the AL West.
Jeff Weaver got the start for the Angels and wasn’t successful. In the first inning he gave up a two-run homer to Miguel Tejada. The following inning he gave up a double to Brian Roberts, which plated two more runs. At this point the Angels were down four runs.
After Weaver struggled for the first two innings, he settled down. From the third inning, till he came out of the game, Weaver allowed only two hits and no runs.
The offense was shut down. The six-foot, seven inch Dominican, Daniel Cabrera, struck out six Angels in seven innings. In fact the only time the Angels scored a run while Cabrera was pitching was on a pass ball.
Garret Anderson was the lonesome bright spot on the offense. He had three hits raising his batting average to .286.
The Angels are now heading to Minnesota where they will take on Joe Mauer and the Twins, and boy are they glad to get out of Baltimore. The Angels dropped 3 out of 4 against the Orioles putting them below .500 ball once again.
Player of the game: Garret Anderson – GA went 3 for 4, with a RBI and run scored.
Disappointment – Casey Kotchman – Casey went hitless again! Against Baltimore Kotchman went 0 for 11. His batting average is now .162.
