Arizona's Upton OK Without Long-Term Deal

The Arizona Republic - Diamondbacks right fielder Justin Upton is fine with the fact that the team hasn't offered him a long-term deal, according to the Arizona Republic.

"I want to get through my first season," Upton said. "I'm not going to rush into anything."

Evan Longoria, six games into his Major League career, signed a rather lucrative deal with the Rays on Thursday.

Upton will not become a free agent until 2013, after being selected as the top overall pick in the 2005 draft. [READ]
