The Los Angeles Times - Angels' starter John Lackey is ready to begin a rehab stint in the minor leagues this week, according to the Los Angeles Times.

"He's ready stuff-wise to go out there and compete," said manager Mike Scioscia. "We want to make sure he comes out of this fine. If that comes to pass, he'll be on his way to getting stretched out and getting the stamina he'll need to rejoin the Angels."

He will make his first rehab start on Thursday as long as everything goes according to the team's plans. [READ]
