Pujols Admits Patience Is Wearing Thin
23rd April, 2008 - 9:43 am
The St. Louis Post-Dispatch - Albert Pujols has finally admitted that his patience is wearing thin at the plate, according to the St. Louis Post-Dispatch.

He was intentionally walked by the Brewers on Tuesday night, but when he came up in a tough spot later in the game he ended up striking up after working the count to 3-0.

"I felt I didn't want to walk, and I took myself out of the strike zone to swing at that pitch," Pujols said. "The 3-0 pitch was a little low. But I tried to push too much. I should've taken my walk. It's something you learn. You press. It's the way the game goes."

He's on pace for 154 walks this season, after never reaching 100 in his career.
