Fuentes Replaces Corpas As Rockies' Closer
24th April, 2008 - 4:42 pm
The Denver Post - Brian Fuentes will replace Manny Corpas as the closer of the Rockies, according to the Denver Post.

Corpas blew back-to-back saves for Colorado, with Manager Clint Hurdle claiming that the reliever has lost his velocity.

"It's three saves in a week. It's four out of eight," Hurdle said Thursday. "I've watched a volume of work. Take it from there. It's apparent to me that we need to shuffle the deck."

Corpas is 0-1 with a 7.50 ERA this season while Fuentes is 0-1 with a 2.45 ERA. [READ]
