| 4th May, 2008 - 11:16 am | The Philadelphia Inquirer - Yankees' GM Brian Cashman's contract runs out at the end of the season, and the Phillies will be in need of a new decision-maker when Pat Gillick retires this fall, according to the Philadelphia Inquirer.
Cashman thought about Philadelphia as a possible destination when his last contract expired in 2005, but Gillick was handed the job instead.
His stance on young pitching hasn't faired well so far this season, with Phil Hughes and Ian Kennedy struggling mightily. Cashman refused to deal the young arms for Johan Santana this winter. [READ] |
