| 8th May, 2008 - 10:38 am | The New York Times - Assuming all continues to go well with Alex Rodriguez's rehab, he is on target to return for the Yankees at the end of next week, according to The New York Times.
The third baseman hopes to play in extended spring training games in Florida at the beginning of next week, allowing him to get into shape to re-join the Yankees against Tampa Bay on the 14th or 15th.
"I hate watching this," Rodriguez said. "It’s just tough to watch. You know your responsibilities, and you just want to be out there and be able to help. Wednesday can’t get here quick enough."
A-Rod, however, realizes how important it is for him to make sure his strained quadriceps is fully healed.
"Being on the D.L. is probably the best thing that could have happened to me," Rodriguez said. "Knowing me and knowing my history, I probably would have been out there doing something stupid to screw up the whole season. The D.L. is a good shelter." [READ] |
