Giants' Magowan Announces Retirement

MLB.com - Giants' managing general partner and president Peter Magowan will retire at the end of this season, a move he announced Friday, as reported by MLB.com.

William Neukom, currently a general partner in the ownership group, will become managing general partner, with executive VP Larry Baer rising to president.

Baer has acted for years in conjunction with Magowan, so the impending transition should be seamless. GM Brian Sabean, the head of baseball operations, is expected to keep his job. [READ]
