Piniella: Edmonds Needs To Start Hitting

The Chicago Tribune - The Cubs could part ways with recently-signed outfielder Jim Edmonds if he doesn't start hitting well soon, according to The Chicago Tribune.

"We need to see improvement with the bat, to be perfectly honest," Piniella said Wednesday.

Edmonds is 2-for-15 in his first four games with the Cubs.

"I like him," Edmonds said. "He expects you to go out and play. He doesn't really come [in the clubhouse] too much. Just an old-school manager. He expects you to do your job, and the rest will take care of itself." [READ]
