Francona Names Lee Starter, Announces AL Lineup

Andrew Perna/RealGM - American League manager Terry Francona announced his lineup for the 2008 MLB All-Star Game at Yankee Stadium on Monday morning.

Pitcher Cliff Lee, of the Cleveland Indians, will start for the AL.

The batting order, consisting of the nine players voted in by the fans, will be as follows:

1. Ichiro Suzuki, Seattle – RF
2. Derek Jeter, New York – SS
3. Josh Hamilton, Texas – CF
4. Alex Rodriguez, New York – 3B
5. Manny Ramirez, Boston – LF
6. Milton Bradley, Texas – DH
7. Kevin Youkilis, Boston – 1B
8. Joe Mauer, Minnesota – C
9. Dustin Pedroia, Boston- 2B

“I’m going to try to throw strikes, and with the lineup we have we should be able to score some runs,” Lee said of starting for the AL. “It’s an honor just to be here, but to start the game is just icing on the cake.” [READ]
