Joba Sent To Specialist
5th August, 2008 - 8:08 pm
New York Post - Joba Chamberlain had an MRI of his right shoulder on Tuesday. Chamberlain experienced stiffness in the shoulder during Monday's game in Texas.

Now the Yankees have decided to send Chamberlain, with his MRI results in hand, to see the noted orthopedist Dr. James Andrews.

"It was my decision to send him to New York and our decision to send him to see Andrews," Brian Cashman said.

Chamberlain has been erased from his start Saturday but no decision has been made to put him on the DL as of yet.

"I can't answer that at this point," Cashman said.

Asked if he was concerned, Cashman said, "I will wait to see what Andrews says to see what I can say."

The New York Post reports that the word in the Yankees' clubhouse was that Chamberlain was apprehensive about being sent to get a second opinion from Dr. Andrews. [READ]
