Webb: D-Backs Pulled Extension Offer
6th August, 2008 - 11:33 am
Arizona Republic - Brandon Webb said he and the team had agreed to terms on a contract extension in June, only to have the Diamondbacks pull the offer.

Webb is signed through 2009 with a team option for 2010. His extension would have been guaranteed through 2013.

"I just want to let fans know that I'm not the one who pulled it off the table," Webb said. "We just didn't see eye to eye on a couple of things, and that was it. I love Arizona, and this is my first choice."

RealGM Note: Webb is currently fifth overall in season FIC and 'deserves' a salary of $18.62 million, which gives him a Reina Value of +239%. [READ]
