Giles Vetoes Trade To Boston

yahoo.com - Padres outfielder Brian Giles exercised his trade veto power Friday, blocking a waiver deal that would have sent him to the Red Sox, according to a Yahoo.com report.

Giles was claimed off waivers by the Red Sox, and Boston and San Diego had 48 hours to make a deal. However, Giles decided to exercise a clause in his contract that allowed him to veto a trade. [READ]
