Hughes Pitches Well In Rehab Start
12th August, 2008 - 11:33 pm
Andrew Perna/RealGM - Phil Hughes pitched well for the Yankees Triple-A affiliate in Scranton/Wilkes-Barre on Tuesday night against Pawtucket.

Hughes threw 84 pitches, going 5 1/3 innings for the Yankees. He allowed three hits and two runs, while walking one batter and striking out four batters.

The strong start, in conjunction with the myriad of injuries the Yankees have incurred, means that Hughes could soon rejoin the team in the majors.

Of the 84 pitches Hughes threw, 50 were for strikes.

Scranton/Wilkes-Barre defeated Pawtucket 8-6 in eleven innings on Tuesday night. [READ]
