Yankees Fire Scouts Amid Probe

ESPN - The Yankees have fired a pair of scouts that are under investigation in a probe relating to kickbacks from contracts with Latin American players, according to The Associated Press.

New York fired Carlos Rios, their director of Latin American scouting, and Ramon Valdivia, their Dominican Republic scouting director, a baseball official leaked on Friday.

They were accused of skimming six figures from the deals, a second baseball official said, with both officials speaking on the condition of anonymity. [READ]
