Big Unit Isn't Thinking About Retirement

The Arizona Republic - Randy Johnson isn't thinking about retirement as he continues to pitch well for the Diamondbacks this season, according to The Arizona Republic.

"Eventually, you have to retire and come out of retirement and then play again and then retire," Johnson said jokingly. "I haven't even retired yet and come out of retirement, so I still have a little ways to go before I actually retire."

The 44-year-old appears to be thinking about playing again in 2009.

"I still have a month and a half left of starts, and I'm excited about that," Johnson said. "And they're meaningful games, another reason why I wanted to come back from last year. I didn't get an opportunity to pitch in the postseason. I think I can help. I'm not the Randy of 1999 or 2000 or 2001, but I can still go out there and pitch and take my chances." [READ]
