Maddon, Upton: Let's Move On
17th August, 2008 - 6:24 pm
The Tampa Tribune - Rays' Manager Joe Maddon and B.J. Upton would like to move past a recent incident that involved the manager benching the outfielder for a lack of hustle, according to The Tampa Tribune.

"Listen, I like the guy a lot," Maddon said of Upton. "B.J.'s a wonderful young man; he's going to be a superstar in this league; he's a big part of our organization now and in the future. But, you have to draw the line at some point just to make sure that all the right things do occur in the years to come."

Upton, who's hitting .264 with 7 home runs and 54 RBIs, isn't worried about his benching.

"No. I know myself," said Upton. "I play hard every day. I'm sure I'm not the first and not going to be the last guy to deal with this type of thing. It's just time to move on." [READ]
