Beckett Scratched From Start With Numbness
20th August, 2008 - 9:30 am
The Boston Herald - Red Sox starter Josh Beckett has been scratched from his scheduled start on Saturday because of "numbness" in his pitching hand, according to The Boston Herald.

Terry Francona indicated on Tuesday night that Beckett would be given three additional days of rest and make his next start Tuesday against the New York Yankees.

"It’s just something I’ve been dealing with," said Beckett. "At some point, you’ve got to figure out what it is. It’s not what I want (to skip a start), but at this juncture, it’s something that needs to happen."

Beckett is 11-9 with a 4.34 ERA in 149.1 innings this season. [READ]
