The Boston Herald - The Red Sox demoted pitcher Clay Buchholz after losing to the Orioles on Wednesday night, according to The Boston Herald.

Buchholz is 2-9 this season and will likely be replaced by reliever Chris Smith, who was pitching with Triple-A Pawtucket.
