K-Rod Says Leaving Angels Isn't A Done Deal
6th September, 2008 - 10:28 am
Los Angeles Times - Angels closer Francisco Rodriguez said on Friday that leaving the team this winter isn't a forgone conclusion, according to Los Angeles Times.

Rodriguez is reportedly seeking a five-year deal in the $15 million-a-year range.

"I want to clarify something," Rodriguez said. "Just because I want to explore the market, it doesn't mean I don't want to be here."

Rodriguez has a 2.43 ERA in 59 1/3 innings of work this season, tallying 54 saves and 68 strikeouts.

"As a player, I worked hard for six years, and I earned that right to go out there and see what there is. That doesn't mean I don't want to be here," he added. "I want to see what's out there, and it would be stupid on my part if I didn't." [READ]
