Giants Promote 2008 Draft Pick 3B Conor Gillaspie

AP - Third baseman Conor Gillaspie was called up from the low minors Saturday by the Giants, a quick promotion for a player who was drafted just three months ago.

Gillaspie batted .269 while splitting time between the Arizona Rookie League and Class-A Salem-Keizer. He is the first player from this year’s draft class to reach the majors, according to an Associated Press report. [READ]
