Mets, Yankees Tell Fans To Keep Hands Off Souvenirs
7th September, 2008 - 7:13 pm
New York Daily News - The Mets and Yankees have told fans to keep their hands off souvenirs at their stadiums with less than a month left before both Shea and Yankee Stadium close up shop, according to New York Daily News.

Security has been set on high at both venues to deter vandals intent on swiping even a small piece of New York baseball history.

"The Mets maintain a zero tolerance policy on attempted thefts of items from Shea Stadium," the team said in a statement. "Throughout the season, a number of attendees have been arrested for attempted thefts."

"We hope this will discourage any further attempts as we look to close out Shea Stadium with record crowds."

The Yankees will open a ten-game home stand on Friday, that will conclude on Sept. 21, the final game at the Stadium. [READ]
