| 9th September, 2008 - 4:49 pm | Bergen Record - With closer Billy Wagner already out for 2009, there appears to be a possibilty that the Mets could make a play for Francisco Rodriguez, according to Bergen Record.
New York GM Omar Minaya said in a conference call recently that the team would revisit their off-season plans with Wagner lost.
Rodriguez is the prize of the 2009 market when it comes to closers, but New York sources indicate that he will probably be too pricey for them.
Arizona reliever Brandon Lyon, Brian Fuentes, Kerry Wood, Jason Isringhausen, and Trevor Hoffman will be available.
RealGM Note: Rodriguez is currently 12th in season FIC and 'deserves' to make $16 million. [READ] |
