Astros Say Minute Maid Park Survived Ike

ESPN - The Astros claim that Minute Maid Park survived the worst of Hurricane Ike, and the team will be able to return to play there, according to ESPN.com.

"The building did what it was designed to do," team president of business operations Pam Gardner said. "We're still assessing the damage, but there's nothing substantial at this point that we've been able to identify. There's water in the building in a couple of places, but it's minor."

The Astros, who have played their way back into the National League playoff race, had the first two games of their weekend series against the Chicago Cubs postponed because of the storm. [READ]
