First Career Shutout For Giants' Lincecum

AP - Tim Lincecum pitched a four-hitter for his first career shutout and the Giants beat the Padres 7-0 on Saturday night, according to an Associated Press report.

Lincecum (17-3) hadn’t thrown a complete game in his first 54 starts, but sailed through nine innings against the Padres, throwing a career-high 138 pitches. He struck out 12 to win his sixth straight decision.

Lincecum leads the majors with 237 strikeouts. He lowered his NL-best ERA to 2.43. [READ]
