| 16th September, 2008 - 11:03 am | Houston Chronicle - Astros' Manager Cecil Cooper called Commissioner Bud Selig on Monday morning to express his displeasure about the selection of Miller Park as a neutral site for two games against the Cubs, according to Houston Chronicle.
"He and I are good friends," Cooper said. "We talked about it. He vented. I vented. We’re done with it. He did what he thought was the best thing to do. I disagreed. That’s where it lies."
The Astros were forced to play two important games; they lost both, in front of crowds that appeared to be 99 percent Cub fans.
"Was it perfect? No," Selig told the Chronicle. "I went through every option. I finally looked at it and realized I didn’t have another option. I’m always sensitive about the Brewers, but I feel in my heart this was the best option." [READ] |
