Boston Locks Up At Least Tie For Wild Card

ESPN - The Red Sox clinched at least a tie for the American League Wild Card with a 3-0 victory over the Blue Jays on Sunday afternoon, according to Associated Press.

Boston needs one more win or a New York loss to secure its fifth playoff berth in six seasons.

"There's a pretty good chance I'll be asleep," Francona said with the Yankees playing on Sunday night.

Boston's Daisuke Matsuzaka (18-2) improved to 9-0 with a 2.31 ERA in 13 road starts, holding the Blue Jays to just two hits in seven innings. [READ]
