Crawford Hopes To Play In ALDS

St. Petersburg Times - Rays' outfielder Carl Crawford hopes to be healthy enough to play in the American League Divisional Series next week, according to St. Petersburg Times.

He wants to be able to pinch-run or play defense but knows that swinging a bat this early could be a bad idea.

Crawford hopes to convince doctors to let him swing a bat soon, but he understands if his tendon injury "pops again it could be career-ending."

"There's still pain in it," he said of the right middle finger. "I think it's going to be pain in it from here on out, so I just need to start swinging. If I can ever get cleared to start swinging a bat, then I can start the process of dealing with the pain." [READ]
