| 25th September, 2008 - 9:12 am | Chicago Sun-Times - Cubs' Manager Lou Piniella claims that he'll honor his contract and remain with the team next season even if they win the World Series this fall, according to Chicago Sun-Times.
"I'm signed for next year here. I'm going to honor my contract, and then we'll see what happens," Piniella said Wednesday.
Piniella has one more guaranteed year on the three-year, $10 million deal he signed before the 2007 season. The Cubs also have a team option for the 2010 season.
"Basically what I told [the Daily News] is that I'm not in this thing 'till I'm 70," Piniella said. "I want to enjoy my life a little bit, too. ... Next year, if the Cubs win [this fall], I'm signed to manage the Cubs. I've never said anything to the contrary." [READ] |
