Replay Changes Molina's Single To HR

Mercury News - For just the second time since instant replay was implemented, a call was overturned on Friday night when it was determined that a single by Giants catcher Bengie Molina was actually a home run.

The two-run shot tied the game with the Dodgers 2-2 in the bottom of the sixth inning.

Molina lined the first pitch he saw to the top of the brick facade in right and the ball ricocheted back to the grass. He ran to first and remained there.

After a brief discussion, the umpiring crew headed to the replay booth in the umpires room behind home plate. [READ]
