Torre Names Lowe Starter In NLDS Opener

ESPN - Dodgers' Manager Joe Torre has named Derek Lowe the starter for the first game of their NLDS series.

Chad Billingsley and Hiroki Kuroda will follow, and Greg Maddux could be a candidate down the line, as well.

"A lot of those decisions are made as the series goes on," said Torre, who plans to carry 11 pitchers. "It also depends who we use."

Los Angeles won't know who they are playing until the Wild Card battle between the Mets and Brewers is decided. [READ]
