Cubs Place Dempster In Pen As They Look To Avoid Sweep

Post-Tribune - The Cubs have placed pitcher Ryan Dempster in the bullpen as they look to avoid a sweep at the hands of the Dodgers.

Dempster started Game 1, and Manager Lou Piniella says that he will be available in Game 4, if needed, as well.

"If (Dempster) pitches, we can always start (Game 2 starter Carlos) Zambrano on Tuesday, which would be his fifth day," Piniella said. "So we have to. We're going to pull out all the stops that we can and do whatever we can to help ourselves win baseball games." [READ]
