Andrew Perna/RealGM - The White Sox stayed alive on Sunday afternoon with a 5-3 win over the Rays.

Chicago's John Danks pitched 6 2/3 strong innings, allowing three runs on seven hits. He struck out seven batters, throwing 105 pitches in the outing.

Tampa Bay took a quick 1-0 lead in the second inning on an infield single by Akinori Iwamura, but Chicago answered with five runs over the next four innings to extend the ALDS series.

A.J. Pierzynski singled home a run in the third to tie the game, and Alexei Ramirez hit a sacrifice fly in the fourth to give the White Sox their first lead of the game.

Dewayne Wise then doubled home a pair of runs to push Chicago's lead to 4-1. Juan Uribe singled in the final run of the game for the White Sox in the sixth, giving the team a 5-1 lead heading into the seventh inning.

The Rays came alive in the top of the seventh, with B.J. Upton hitting a two-run homer off Danks to trim Chicago's lead in half. However, relievers Octavio Dotel, Matt Thornton and Bobby Jenks came on to hold Tampa Bay in check.

Matt Garza lasted six innings for the Rays, allowing five runs on seven hits. He struck out, and walked, four batters in his 95-pitch outing.

The White Sox will try to force a fifth game with another win on Monday.

Tampa Bay will send Andy Sonnanstine to the mound, while Gavin Floyd will pitch for Chicago at home. [READ]
