Yanks Wish They Pushed Harder For Johan

New York Post - Hank Steinbrenner regrets not pushing harder to sign pitcher Johan Santana prior to the 2008 season.

"I should have pushed harder for the [Johan] Santana deal," said Hank Steinbrenner, who was talked out of signing Santana by his brother Hal and general manager Brian Cashman.

"My dad wanted to do that," Hank said. "But that doesn't mean we would have won if we got into the playoffs, because [Chien-Ming] Wang was hurt." [READ]
