Barrett Clears Waivers, Opts For Free Agency

St. Louis Post-Dispatch - Former Padres' catcher Michael Barrett has cleared waivers and opted to become a free agent this winter.

Barrett missed 115 games this season because of injuries.

He missed the last three months of the season after fouling a ball off his face on July 2. He also was on the DL from April 8-May 24 with a sprained right elbow.

Barrett batted .202 with two home runs and nine RBIs in 30 games. [READ]
