Giants Expected To Pursue Uggla?
13th October, 2008 - 4:50 pm
Chicago Tribune - The Giants are expected to pursue Marlins' second baseman Dan Uggla this winter as they look to add a proven bat to their offense.

San Francisco could also target Derrek Lee or Paul Konerko, who they'd likely have to deal Jonathan Sanchez or Matt Cain in order to acquire.

RealGM Note: Uggla is one of only 10 players to hit 90 or more homers during their first three seasons. Albert Pujols, Ralph Kiner, Eddie Mathews, Mark Teixeira, Joe DiMaggio, Frank Robinson, Chuck Klein, Bob Horner and Ted Williams are the other nine members of that club.

Uggla has the lowest OPS during his first three years and 100 more strikeouts than any of those other players. [READ]
