Fire Damages Citgo Sign Over Fenway

ESPN - A fire on Wednesday melted and blackened some of the plastic panels on the red, white, and blue Citgo sign over Fenway's Green Monster in left field.

Steve MacDonald, a spokesman for the Boston Fire Department, said the flames and smoke, first spotted by bystanders and drivers about noon, were quickly put out, and the blaze was likely caused by an electrical short circuit. Damage was estimated at $5,000. [READ]
