Milwaukee's Melvin Extended, Sveum Out

Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel - The Brewers have signed GM Doug Melvin to a three-year extension through the 2012 season and announced that Dale Sveum will not be the team's manager next spring.

Melvin wouldn't reveal any names of possible managing candidates, but the group could include Buck Showalter, Bob Brenly, and Ken Macha. [READ]
