Melvin: Brewers Will Make Offer To CC

ESPN - Brewers general manager Doug Melvin, who signed a three-year extension this week, says that the team will make an offer to CC Sabathia.

Sabathia will become a free agent after the World Series.

When the Brewers traded for Sabathia in July there appeared to be no chance that he would pitch for them past this season, but he enjoyed the time he spent in Milwaukee.

"At least we have a chance," Melvin said in a conference call, "whereas before, we wouldn't have any chance with a pitcher of CC's caliber. I do feel we will make him an offer, and at that point, it will be in his court." [READ]
