Manuel Reveals Phils' Sixth-Inning Plans

MLB.com - When Game 5 of the World Series resumes, Phillies' Manager Charlie Manuel will send a pinch-hitter to the plate against Rays' righty Grant Balfour.

Given a day to ponder the possibilities, Manuel said he'll replace Cole Hamels, then turn the game over to a bullpen that boasted the National League's best ERA this season.

"We got 3 1/2 innings of baseball," Manuel said during a Tuesday conference call. "We get to bat four times. They get to bat three. We get 12 outs. They get nine. We'll come in with the mind-set that we're going to win that game. We'll make sure that we're ready to go." [READ]
