Witasick Signs Two-Year Deal With Athletics

Yahoo! - Jay Witasick apparently impressed the Oakland Athletics.

The Athletics on Tuesday agreed to terms with the veteran reliever on a two-year contract.

Financial terms were not disclosed.

Acquired at the All-Star break from Colorado, Witasick went 1-1 with a save and a 3.25 ERA in 28 appearances with the Oakland. He was 0-4 with a 2.52 ERA in 32 games for the Rockies.

Witasick, 33, has gone 30-41 with five saves and a 4.54 ERA in 349 games. The veteran righthander also has pitched for Kansas City, San Diego, the New York Yankees and San Francisco in his career. [READ]
