A-Rod Confirms He'll Play For Dominican

MLB.com - Yankees third baseman Alex Rodriguez has confirmed reports that he will play for the Dominican Republic in the 2009 World Baseball Classic.

"I am 100 percent sure that I will play for the Dominican Republic team," Rodriguez said Saturday while at a charity golf tournament. "This time, there will be no doubts, and it is a dream of my mom's that I intend to fulfill."

Rodriguez played for the United States at the 2006 WBC.

"I think we have a good team and the possibility of winning because we have lots of quality material for the Classic," Rodriguez said. [READ]
