Towers: Peavy To Cubs Or No One

MLB.com - Padres general manager has indicated that he'll trade pitcher Jake Peavy to the Cubs during the Winter Meetings, or he'll retain the former Cy Young winner.

Towers indicated that he's talking with just the Cubs about Peavy, though a "third or fourth team" could essentially be roped in to ensure the Padres of the compensation package of players they're looking for.

"It's the one ballclub we're talking to," Towers said, "There's no secret there." [READ]
