FoxSports - The Mariners view Bobby Abreu as an ideal fit, major-league sources say, but it is unclear whether they can afford him. The Giants also have shown interest, knowing Abreu would come cheaper than Manny Ramirez.

He surely believes that he should command a higher average salary than Raul Ibanez's $10.5 million or Milton Bradley's $10 million; he was more accomplished than either of those players entering free agency, and is almost two years younger than Ibanez. [READ]
