MLB Could Add Another Wildcard In Future?

RealGM Staff Report - Giants' president Larry Baer was on KNBR radio Thursday morning and gave the impression that Major League Baseball is considering adding an additional 'Wildcard' team into the playoffs sometime in the future.

Although it is simply in the discussion stages, two Wildcard teams could potentially meet in a best of three series and the winner would then advance to play one of the three divisional winners.

He also said that traditional 'doubleheaders' and a shorter Spring Training will be discussed. [READ]
