AP - On a night to savor outstanding defense and quality relief pitching, Carl Crawford pulled back a home run with a leaping catch an inning before Curtis Granderson tripled and scored the tiebreaking run in the eighth inning. That led the American League to a 4-3 victory over the National League on Tuesday night at Busch Stadium, as reported by the Associated Press.

It was the seventh straight win for the AL since the All-Star game has been used to determine home-field advantage for the World Series. [READ]
