Halladay May Have Rejected Deal To Rangers
5th August, 2009 - 8:19 am
Toronto Star - The Rangers thought they had a deal for Roy Halladay, but the pitcher reportedly nixed the trade.

Toronto general manager J.P. Ricciardi told Texas that they wouldn't be accepting any package because Halladay would not waive his no-trade clause to go to the Rangers.

According to Gil Lebreon at Star-Telegram.com, "[Rangers general manager John] Daniels has taken the high road in his public comments about the Halladay negotiations. This, despite Ricciardi's stunt of pulling the rug from under Daniels on Thursday night and telling him that Halladay didn't want to come to Texas. Daniels had previously been assured that Halladay would accept a trade to the Rangers."

Only Halladay and Ricciardi know the truth, but neither is discussing the subject. [READ]
