| 6th August, 2009 - 1:45 am | FoxSports - The Red Sox have signed free-agent right-hander Paul Byrd to a minor-league contract, according to a major league source.
Boston hopes Byrd can act as insurance for their starting rotation.
Byrd, 38, is expected to be ready to join the major league staff around Sept. 1. He has yet to pitch this season and will require time in the minor leagues. [READ] |
