Zimmerman Hoping Nationals Sign Strasburg
14th August, 2009 - 7:56 am
MLB.com - Nationals third baseman Ryan Zimmerman is hoping that the team signs Stephen Strasburg shortly.

Strasburg was the first overall pick in the First-Year Player Draft back in June.

Washington has until midnight on Monday to get Strasburg signed.

"This organization is going in the right direction," Zimmerman said, according to MLB.com. "If you want to keep going in the right direction, you sign your top picks. That's how you get better. That's why the Draft is there. That's why the team with the worst record gets the first pick and the best player. Hopefully, he will make the team better, compete and make the playoffs." [READ]
