Lackey Could Allow Boston To Get Gonzalez

Boston Globe - The Red Sox will be in better position to swing a deal for Padres first baseman Adrian Gonzalez if they sign free-agent pitcher John Lackey.

If Boston signs Lackey, they will be more likely to offer San Diego a package for Gonzalez that includes starter Clay Buchholz.

The Boston Globe writes that Buchholz is the young chip that most teams will ask the Red Sox for in a major trade. [READ]
